Unix Engineer (NYC or London) - Top Financial Firm

 Unix Engineer to join its IT team. This individual will be responsible for developing next-generation architecture and managing the server environment that runs our applications and their supporting infrastructure. This environment includes physical and virtual servers, high-performing global data and storage networks, and systems automation tools for our large scale Linux environments. This role will provide an opportunity to extend our private cloud to provide a standard and scalable platform for our applications. Additionally, the engineer will work closely with development to integrate infrastructure with application development. Overall, the role will entail approximately 60% engineering and 40% development. 
  
The individual should have a computer science or engineering degree, LINUX/UNIX engineering experience, large installation systems administration experience, strong programming and scripting ability, familiarity with Java-based application environments, and excellent communication skills. As the role will entail a significant amount of project management, demonstrated experience in this area is a plus.
